About Ruth and the Law Office

I want to help people proactively manage their financial and personal affairs during life and when a loved one passes.  I believe legal matters must be viewed and handled within the context of peoples’ real lives and all that matters to them.  This means looking beyond legal documents.  My mission is to deliver personal attention to each and every client with care and compassion.

The Law Office of Ruth P. George focuses on helping you with your most important matters. From preparing your Will and other estate planning documents to transferring assets to a lifetime trust to helping you manage the administration of an estate when a loved one passes, these are important matters that make such a difference for all involved.
For these matters, you want a trusted advisor.  I want to be that person for you.
I was a professional ballet dancer until an injury ended that journey, so safe to say I understand how life can throw curve balls.  I want to help you through your transitions by being prepared.  With some effort and my assistance, you can make a huge difference for yourself and the people and entities you care about.  I want you to feel this sense of satisfaction.
I was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 2001, after finishing law school in June, 2000 and worked with a boutique law office focusing on trusts and estates before opening my own office in Williamsville, New York.  I received my Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law, State University of New York with coursework focusing on tax and finance transactions and my Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

I have been appointed by judges in Surrogate’s Court and Supreme Court to act as Guardian ad Litem, Court Evaluator and attorney for alleged incapacitated persons.  I have also worked in various committees with New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association including the Elder Abuse, Guardianship, Taxation, Surrogate’s Court Practice and Procedure and others.

I am currently a member of the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section and the Elder Law and Special Needs Law Sections as well as the Erie County Bar Practice and Procedure in Surrogate’s Court Committee and the Elder Law Committee.  I am a member of the Network in Aging of Western New York, Inc.
